Thank you!

Thank you to every one that has shown concern this week for me and my migraine issue.  I also appreciate all the advice that people have tried to give me.  So far, I’ve learned that yogurt and caffeine are my triggers.  On the plus side, I’ve learned that I can have at least one Coke a day.  Thank God!

Also, thank you to all the wonderful people who voted for my stories in Kelpie‘s Get Inked contest.  I read all the comments and love how much you all loved the story.  I’m adding both contest entries to my one shot page.

There is still time to vote in Kittyinaz’s January writing contest.  There are a lot of great entries.  She also has posted a prompt for her February writing contest.  Unfortunately, I think I will have to pass on that one this time.  I’m having enough problems keeping up with my current rotation of stories.  I think I’m going to focus on one story at a time for the next few weeks.  My writing process has slowed down considerably since I am writing everything by hand to reduce my time on the computer.

In case you missed it, earlier this week I posted a challenge for everyone in Facebook.  I would like for everyone to try at least once a week to leave a review for an author that you don’t normally follow.  I admit that I have not been reading Magpie Tales’ Crash and Burn because I know it is full of angst.  I wait to read angsty stories until they are finished.  That being said, I’ve been following the story through the reviews people leave.  I was completely sickened to see the reviews people have been leaving for her story.  One reviewer went so far as to thank her for being the reason they leave the fandom.  What I cannot understand is why do you read an angst story and then bitch about the angst?!?!?!?!  I was so incensed on her behalf, that I took a moment to leave her a review thanking her for her creativity and wonderful story (even though I’m not yet reading it).  It’s such a little thing to leave encouragement for someone, but it can mean the absolute world to the other person.

And now to pay it forward, I want to mention to new (well new to me) authors that you should check out: Natsgirl and Malmo722.  I started reading stories by both of these authors within the last week, and they are both very good.  Like I’m so angry I didn’t think of these concepts myself good.  🙂

Kleannhouse, my beta extraordinaire, is an amazing woman that I cannot begin to thank enough for everything she does.  I am truly blessed to have her in my life, and I don’t know what I would do without her.  It’s a hard business trying to find a good beta, and I was blessed the day she offered to help me.  So thank you from the bottom of my heart, my dear; I couldn’t do any of this without you.

Here are your updates for the week:

What can I say? My little shipper heart hated how SVM and TB treated Eric, so I have made it my mission to create worlds where the Viking always gets the girl. :-)

I started Natsgirl and Malmo’s stories last week too. I am really enjoying them. I’m always excited to discover new stories by new and talented writers! I don’t know what is wrong with people who are so hateful to leave such nasty comments. What is so hard about if you don’t like it don’t read it. C’mon people, stop being assholes to those few writers we have left in our fandom!

Wow! I can’t believe people can be so uncaring. If Magpie Tales is the same Magpie I met on my site this week, she is the nicest person. Nasty people never cease to amaze me. Ugh.
I love your challenge! That’s great!
Glad you found some triggers too. Hope you’re feeling better. Thanks for the recs will check them out.

Congratulations on your win! I loved that story. It was so touching. I really wanted to know what happened on their date but it is perfect just as it is. I’ll just use my imagination.

  5. Congrats on the win. I really liked both. Glad your figuring out your migranes. I don’t get them but I have family that do and it is awful. That over the counter excedrin migrane is a joke.

I found Malmo722 stories not to long ago and I am so glad that she is getting out into the community now. I really like both of her SVM/TB AH stories and more people need to read them! And now I can check out Natsgirl! Not only do you give us chapters but also new authors! So awesome! Thanks so much!

Glad you have found your triggers. Dang about the coffee but Yay for coke!
I have so little time at the moment for fanfic, that I am constantly playing catch up. I know I haven’t reviewed for a while, but I’ll be with your stories when I can.
And now I have more stories from more lovely writers to read and review 🙂 eventually lol
    Hugs again. Love the challenge!

Thank you for all the updates and glad you are feeling better…
It was funny you mentioned ‘Crash & Burn’ as it is also a story I sort of peek into each time there is an update… It is beautifully written and there are so many great original characters but yep, the angst and Sookie’s decisions make me look away most of the time before I get too invested… Coincidentally I did leave a comment today partly because it was a great chapter and because I also wanted to show a bit of support since, with the story being on FF, anonymous flamers are all the rage… Such cowards!
I have also been reading Natsgirl’s story ‘Swimming to the Light’ which is one of my favourite new stories… And one of those that make me think the fandom is very much alive and kicking!
